" SAMANTHA'S JOY "

                                                         8  x  10      Blue Ink Pen

My daughter works for a great organization, the YMCA. She is a site supervisor at one of the after school care at an elementary level. They had a fundraiser today and I was invited to paint something.
Well I did this painting which I am posting on my other blog Art by Dominique of "Sweet Peas".
Painting in front of people with the intention of having something finished by the alloted time is a bit nerve racking especially when you don't even know what you are doing before hand, but I kept saying to myself I can do this. Of course it helps when your daughter tells you "if you don't like it mom it's  OK you can make a little sketch of something if you want, just have a good time !" (awww !)
Well I finished in about 2 hours and had another 1/2 hour to spare so I started to sketch this beautiful little girl called Samantha with radiant RED hair. I was really happy to capture that smile.

" CHEZ MARIE "

8  x  11 Pen, Ink & Watercolor
SOLD
" Chez Marie " is a small cafe in Paris very close to Montmartre. I thought I would post this drawing I just finished for CHRisTMAS.
First the place is red and second it is called Chez Marie and I thought it could be the new version for the stable where christ was born,
" At Mary's place "
After all he was put in a trough and that's where you put the food you give to the animals, since he is feeding us still I thought it a perfect correlation.
BLESSINGS and MERRY CHRISTMAS to All

BTW   This piece will be features on my general art blog also

" MONtmARTre "

                                                     8  x  11          Pen & Ink

This is from my vacation with my daughter to Paris. I was showing her where her grandmother lived ! The only thing I can say is I hope everyone can have the opportunity to go there at least ounce in your life. We went in the off season and the advantage for me is that I could see the architecture of each building since there were no leaves on the trees, like in this drawing I could see the Sacre Coeur  in the distance. Otherwise it would be obscured by the leaves !

Well all I can say is YIKES  this is not easy ! My daughter is trying to find a dress for her wedding and after a while of seeing ruffles, sheer, lace, buttons and little flowers decoration it almost feel as if I want to create one.
I had fun drawing these. But I did not draw the one that looked so perfect on her you never know who might be seeing this !!!! ...LOL  : D

" le bouquet "

8  x  8   Pen & Ink

Every-time I visit my brother and his wife I can't help it I have to make a bouquet of the beautiful flowers they grow on their property. Unfortunately it will be the last time there for they sold their place and are looking forward to creating a new one.
Hurray for change

I love watering cans, this one is an old one. I have quite a few around. This one is outside my door as I walk out. I've been wanting to sketch it because of the fence, ivy and the flower pot it creates great shadows. Which is what I love.

30th World Wide SketchCrawl

8 x 10 Pen & Ink
Well yesterday was the 30th World Wide SketchCrawl.
When that happens It always trills me to know that there are so many people all over the world drawing with the same purpose "to create something of the moment you are living in ".
I usually draw/sketch outside but I was invited to a lovely party at a friend's house.
It was a pot luck BUT for me bringing something to eat is not my choice at this time so I brought flowers "purple tulips and white daisies" and in honor of the SketchCrawl I drew them while everyone mingled.

Up, Up and Away...

                                                                  8.5  x 11    Pen & Ink
                                                        Balboa Park The Persian Garden

Why you ask this strange title well Lydia has done it again but now she is making us jump, literally.
One of the fun things I enjoy is sketching with this friday group when Lydia is with us for she is the Queen of  U-Tube videos and she's made a great one again but this time it has a twist to it. She found a blog called  Jumping in Art Museums where you can send them your pics of jumping for art so with this in mind we practiced at our sketching location since we were going to the Timken Museum to view the prints of Rembrandt but No Cameras allowed so just the practice jump was posted.
Here is the link of our exploits : HERE

" GODZILLA "

8.5 x 11 Pen & Ink

This is a sketch done with the local SketchCrawlers of San Diego at the " La Jolla Cove ".
It's really a beautiful place. Gosh, I'm so thankful to live here !

Now you ask why am I calling it Godzilla !!!
Well there is this seagull I wanted to draw on top of the light but it did not workout that way. So as you can notice it turn into a Godzilla and before I make it worse I thought I would leave it alone as a funny anecdote.
So if you look closely there is a dinosaur on the street lamp. ha ! ha ! = )

ps. If you click on the picture it will make it bigger.
